Yong Shik Park

         Yong Shik “Rick” Park was born in 1949 in South Korea. He immigrated to the United States in 1970 and resided in Detroit, Michigan, where he worked at an automobile company for 13 years. He married Hyo Soon “Betty” Kim on February 11, 1974, and they gave birth to their first son, Ian, on May 30, 1975. He was joined by his younger brother, Charlton, on January 13, 1977. 

           The Park family moved to New York in 1983 and settled in Harlem where they experienced struggles before finding success with Manna’s Restaurant which still stands as a symbol of the realized American dream to this day.

          Rick is survived by his wife, Hyo Soon “Betty” Park, eldest son, Ian, and his four grandchildren, Charlton Jr., Julian, Lucas, and Aerie. We have faith that his youngest son, Charlton, whom he lost in November of 2022, was standing at the gates of Heaven eager to be reunited with his father. May God embrace Rick for his lifetime of goodness and generosity.
