She graduated from Long Island City High School in 1954, participated in sports and was an enthusiatic roller skater. Upon graduating with honors from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in NYC, she worked with Caltex Oil in NYC. Virginia was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Leonia and later, Calvary Lutheran Church in Allendale. Virginia was an active member of the Ramsey Golf and Country Club where she participated in platform tennis competitions and many rounds of golf. Some of her favorite places and things to do included hiking and biking in the Poconos and the Jersey Shore. Virginia and Don enjoyed many cruises to the Caribbean and Mediterranean and loved traveling to see friends in Canada. She was an avid card player, active in many bridge and mahjong groups, loved playing dominos with her family, and had a talent for painting watercolors. One only had to visit her house to see her many painting covering the walls.

Her family will always remember her heartfelt wisdom and advice. She always reminded us that “you can never look too good” and “use it or lose it”.
