Virginia Passacantando LoFaro, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Born in New York City, she was a resident of Fort Lee for 65 years.
A child prodigy, she was admitted to the prestigious Juilliard School of Music at the age of 5. Virginia received numerous prizes and awards while studying at Juilliard and earned a Post Graduate Degree.
In addition to being a celebrated concert pianist, Virginia maintained a private piano studio in Fort Lee for many years and served as President of The Professional Music Teachers Guild of New Jersey.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. LoFaro, M.D. She is survived by her children, Catherine LoFaro and Joseph R. LoFaro, M.D., her grandson, Rocco P. LoFaro, and her son-in-law, Edward E. Rose.
Final arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Virginia's memory to The Juilliard School Scholarship Fund.
