Ruth Goldstein 95, passed away peacefully on October 20th,2025, in Hackensack NJ, after a brief illness. Ruth Thierer Goldstein was born on April 23, 1930 in Czernovitz, Bukovina, a town that was in Romania at that time. She was a Holocaust survivor, who at the age of 42 brought her family out from behind the Iron Curtain to start a new life in America. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she guided her family with her wisdom, support and advice until the end of her life. The widow of David Goldstein, she is survived by her children Sandra and Andrei and their spouses Joerg and Frances, her granddaughter Sasha and her husband Marshall, her grandchildren Hannah, Ely, Ella and Audrey, and her great-grandchildren Emily and Ana Her legacy will live on through the values she instilled, the love she gave and above all, her stories of her beloved Bukovina and the tribulations she and her family endured during and after World War II. A memorial service for the family will be held on November 15th at The Garden of Memories Mausoleum in Hackensack NJ. A Celebration of Life event will be held in Vermont at a date to be announced.
