In Loving Memory of Ronald Basso

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald, age 93, a beloved life partner to Karen Levinson, cherished son, brother, uncle and dear friend. He passed away peacefully after a long and meaningful life. Raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn and a lifelong New Yorker, he moved to Fort Lee, NJ in 2014.

Ronald and his partner shared 28 wonderful years together, building a life filled with love, companionship, memories, and devotion. He was a beloved partner and best friend, and his presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to those fortunate enough to know him.

Ron was a graduate of Fordham University. Following university he proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Ulm, Germany. His service reflected his commitment to his country and his sense of duty.

He was predeceased by his parents, David and Anna, and brother, David Jr.

Ronald leaves behind a loving family, including his nieces and nephews David and Linda Bacigalupo, Maria Robertson and her partner Kurt Hereld, Paul Bacigalupo, Andrea and Robert Lee, and Laura & Skip Jacobs, along with many grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, who will cherish his memory.

Ron spent decades in the packaging business and retired as President of Continental Superbag in NJ. He was a member of the Plastic Packaging Association and mentored many of his associates along the way forging meaningful long term friendships.

Ron’s second love was the sports program at Fordham U. which he sponsored and supported through good times and sad. His devotion never wavered - GO RAMS!

His life touched many people. He had the gift of making everyone he met feel seen and special and his absence will be deeply felt. He leaves behind not only memories, but a legacy of love that will continue through the family and friends who knew him.

Ronald will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
