Rocco Joseph D'Angelo

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband and cherished father Rocco Joseph D’Angelo age 73 of Teaneck, NJ who went to be with his mom Maria and his in-laws Edna and Randolph on June 28, 2026 after a 6-month courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of Edna (nee Scavone) D’Angelo of almost 40 years and proud father of Rocco Anthony (Rocky) and Julie Katherine. Rocco was born on July 22, 1952 in New York. He attended classes at Westchester Community College and Columbia University. In NY, he met his future devoted wife Edna while working for Bell Atlantic. Rocco spent his career in the telecommunications industry, working for Verizon Communications Inc. for 35 years as well as employment at Optimum Cablevision Systems Corporation. In his younger days, he rode a motorcycle, was a private pilot, and earned a black belt in karate. After retirement, he enjoyed playing softball, watching Turner classic movies, and tinkering on his Jaguar and BMW. His favorite activities were helping his son in the garden and watching movies with his wife and daughter.

Rocco faced many health battles throughout his life. On September 18, 2007 he was fortunate enough to receive a liver and kidney transplant. To guide him through these challenges, he relied on his faith. His favorite biblical quote was Luke 12:27-28 “Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.”

Rocco is predeceased by his cherished mother Maria D’Angelo and survived by his brother Michael D’Angelo and sister-in-law Debra D’Angelo. He is survived by his loving wife Edna Scavone-D’Angelo, son Rocco A. D’Angelo, and daughter Julie D’Angelo. Rocco is also survived by brother-in-law Anthony Scavone, sister-in-law Nancy Macagne, brother-in-law Joseph Macagne as well as his cherished nieces and nephews. Rocco leaves his family with a lifetime of incredible memories. The family will receive their friends on Tuesday, July 7th from 4-8pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, July 8th at 10:30am in St. John the Evangelist Church, Leonia.
