Karamitsos, Rita, (Toula) age 86, a 50-year resident of Fort Lee, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 2, 2026. She was born in Greece, married in Germany, and later came to the United States.

A deeply religious woman, Rita was very active in both the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. John the Theologian and the Ascension Greek Orthodox Church. She had a positive impact on everyone she met and will be greatly missed.

Beloved wife of Angelo Karamitsos for 64 years. Devoted mother of Amalia and her husband, Christopher, and John and his wife, Jennifer. Cherished grandmother of Dylan, Deanna, and Taylor.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, “opposite the Fort Lee Library.” The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Ascension Greek Orthodox Church.
