Phillip "Filippo" Lenge

Phillip “Filippo” Lenge, age 93, of Fort Lee, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Montescaglioso, Italy, to Vito and Camilla, Phillip emigrated to the United States in 1957 and built a beautiful life centered around family, hard work, and love.

Phillip was a talented and dedicated tailor in Hoboken for more than 30 years. During his time there, he proudly owned and operated his own business, Mona Lisa Coat Company, where he built a successful career through his craftsmanship, dedication, and strong work ethic. He took great pride in his work and in the many relationships he formed throughout his years in the business before retiring.

Above all, Phillip cherished his family and the life he shared with his beloved wife, Mary (nee: Avella). The two met and fell in love, beginning a wonderful journey together that lasted 64 years.

Phillip and Mary were blessed with four children: Camille Lenge and her husband Patrick Matthews, Caroline Lenge and her partner Frank Mulvey, Vito Lenge and his wife Robin , and Philip Jr. Lenge and his wife Kelly. He was a devoted father and a proud grandfather to his five grandchildren, Trevor, Fiona, Massimo, Giacomo, and Zach, who brought him great joy and happiness. Phillip is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Phillip will be remembered for his warmth, devotion to his family, and the lasting impression he made on all those who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, extended family, and the many lives he touched throughout his 93 years.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, October 1st, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Frank A. Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, located at 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ. (opp. the Fort Lee Library).

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Madonna Church on the Hill  2070 Hoefleys lane Fort Lee New Jersey, Entombment will follow at Madonna Cemetery & Mausoleum, 2070 Hoefleys Ln, Fort Lee, New Jersey 07024.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Phillip’s memory
