Nicholas Kapsuris

Nicholas “Nick” Kapsuris of Englewood, New Jersey, passed away on September 27, 2026. Born in Buffalo, New York, Nick worked as a business analyst and accountant until his retirement.

Anyone who knew Nick knew he was one of a kind. He had a quick wit, a wonderful sense of humor, and a kindness that made people remember him. He loved reading, travel, and the theater, but his favorite way to spend time was with Joan, his beloved wife of 46 years. Theirs was a blessed love that grew stronger with each passing year.

Nick also treasured time with family and friends. He enjoyed the friendships he made at the Tenafly and Northvale senior centers, especially discussing books with the Tenafly book club and playing Wednesday bingo in Northvale. He and Joan shared memorable trips with both clubs.

Nick is survived by his wife, Joan; his daughter, Michele Portale; his stepdaughters, Sandy Pinto and Joyce Jablonski and his son-in-law, Al; and his grandchildren, Allison and Blake. He was predeceased by his son, Mike Kapsuris.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 1, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Frank Patti Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, New Jersey. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 2, at 9:45 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 470 Broad Avenue, Leonia, New Jersey, followed by entombment at Madonna Mausoleum, 2070 Hoefley's Lane, Fort Lee, New Jersey.
