Maryann Basile (née Lanzetti), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away suddenly and peacefully on May 3, 2026, in Teaneck, New Jersey. Born on October 1, 1944, in Hoboken, Maryann lived a life marked by warmth, family dedication, and a passion for the simple pleasures that enriched her days.
Maryann was known for her boundless love of cooking, often bringing comfort and joy to her family through the meals she prepared with care. She delighted in visits to Atlantic City, finding pleasure in the change of scenery and the experiences shared with loved ones. Above all, Maryann was truly family-oriented, cherishing every moment spent with those closest to her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Basile, who was her steadfast partner throughout life’s journey. Her legacy continues through their children, Melissa Shustyk and her husband Michael, and Thomas Basile III along with his wife Adrianna. Maryann’s love extended to her cherished grandchildren—Zachary and his wife Erin, Corinne, and Olivia—who brought her immense happiness. Her great-grandchild Grayson was a beacon of joy and an enduring symbol of her family's ongoing story.
A visitation to honor Maryann’s memory will be held on May 6, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Frank Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home located at 327 Main Street in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Following this, a prayer service will take place at Madonna Cemetery, 2070 Hoefleys Lane, also in Fort Lee, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Maryann Basile’s life was a testament to the power of love and family. Her spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew her, remembered for her kindness, devotion, and the genuine joy she found in life’s precious moments. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
