June Catherine Grogan, of Lakewood, NJ passed away peacefully this past weekend. June was born on June 1, 1931, in Hoboken, NJ to the late Frank Bernard Hughes and Mollie Marie Hughes.
In addition to her parents June is preceded in death by her sister Sharon Rahim and brother Dr. Kevin Hughes. She is survived by her loving sister Patricia Noel Giannantonio and her nieces and nephews, Anthony. Michael, Patrick, Louis, Mary and Gary Giannantonio and Laura Fell. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
June worked most of her life as a bookkeeper and worked many years at Anthony's Pharmacy in Palisades Park. She also found great joy in her companionship and caring for her feline friends. So much that she extended her caring nature to the wider community, often rescuing and caring for stray cats during her retirement. She is survived by her cherished cat and a community of fellow cat lovers who will fondly remember her dedication to animals. June had a strong faith in God and often would pray to St. Anthony to watch over her family.
She would never forget you on your birthday or Christmas and was sure to leave a message and send a thoughtful card. In addition to this, she loved to play her scratch offs and head to the casino with her sister occasionally for fun. June was one of kind and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
