Jae Poong Lee, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

Born on October 10, 1935 in Anjoo, Pyeong An Nam Do, North Korea. At age of 9, he escaped the communist regime in North Korea with his father, Young Soon Lee, to Seoul, South Korea, and in 1980, immigrated to the U.S. with his wife and four children.

He lived a life marked by patience, diligence, and selfless dedication to his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always put the needs of others before his own. He prided himself on his ability to provide stability and security for those he loved. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his unwavering devotion, and the classic newsboy hats that served as his uniform. He is very loved and will be very missed.
