Donna Lynn Hunt

In loving memory of Donna Lynn Hunt (nee: Mizell), age 71, of Leonia, NJ who passed peacefully on May 19, 2025. She was born on June 14, 1953 in Miami-Dade County, FL and attended the University of Florida and Cottey College, where she obtained degrees in Education and Music. She later went on to become a teacher for the Leonia Public School system.

Beloved mother, grandmother, niece and sister; Donna is survived by son, Christopher Hunt; daughter, Deanna Clark (son-in-law Christopher Clark); two granddaughters (Mackenzie and Chloe), and partner Kevin Dolce. Preceded in death by mother Virginia; father, Robert Miles Mizell; bonus mom/Aunt June Wilson; brothers, Randall and Stanley; and sisters, Ellen, Sandra and Deborah.

She was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Church of Leonia, and enjoyed singing, baking, reading, and above all, spending time with her family and friends. She was a light to everyone who knew her; and despite years of personal health struggles, she remained kind, faithful, courageous, and optimistic. One of her favorite sayings was “dynamite comes in small packages,” and she was the living embodiment of the phrase.

Though we will miss her dearly, we will keep her memory alive in our hearts forever and will look for little sprinkles of her in everything we do.

A funeral viewing and service will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Leonia located at 181 Fort Lee Rd, Leonia, NJ 07605 on Tuesday, May 27th at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936.
