Domenica Martello, née Pizzimenti, age 87, of Fort Lee, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026.
She was born in Rosali, a small town in Calabria, Italy, to the late Giuseppe Pizzimenti and Mattia Abrami Pizzimenti, and came to the United States in 1958.
Domenica was the beloved wife of the late Guglielmo Martello. Devoted mother of Maria Luisa (Martello) Richichi and her husband, William, and Francesco Martello and his wife, Adrienne Castelli. Cherished grandmother of Anthony and Joseph. Loving sister of Gaetana Gabbiano Pizzimenti, Angela (Pizzimenti) Luppino, and the late Elvira Gabbiano Pizzimenti. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.
Domenica will always be remembered by her family and friends for her wonderful cooking, her love of gardening, and her deep devotion to family. She expressed her love through the care she gave, the meals she prepared, and the home she created for the people she loved most. Her strength, warmth, and presence will remain with her family always.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 26, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, opposite the Fort Lee Library. The funeral procession will leave Saturday, June 27, at 9:30 AM for the celebration of her funeral Mass at St. Nicholas R.C. Church in Palisades Park, NJ at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Domenica’s memory to Memorial Sloan Cancer Center or to the Holy Name Foundation in Support of Hospice Care at Villa Marie Claire.
