Bertha Norgaard

Norgaard, Bertha nee: Wiese, age 98, of Leonia, on April 3, 2016. She was born in Cicero, Illinois and was a retail worker at EJ Korvettes and a Clerical worker after the chain closed in 1980. Beloved wife of the late Karl Georg Norgaard. Devoted mother of Gary Norgaard and his wife Donna. Cherished grandmother of Kristen, Karl, Erik and Mark. Loving sister of Evelyn Silverman. She was an extraordinary mother to her son Gary after her husband pre-deceased her in 1953; often working long hours to be both mother and father. Despite having to leave school before high school due to the Depression she was a poet and artist of authentic talent. She was kind and generous to anyone I need. Her sacrifice and dedication is the foundation of our family for which she will always be honored. Cryptside Service Monday in Madonna Mausoleum at 10:00 AM.
